UKC Rotax Sr. Debut Ends With a Win

Utah Kart Championship race seven presented a decision for Walker Hess Racing of whether to stay in Rotax Jr. or move to Rotax Sr. Walker decided to walk away from his Utah Kart Championship lead in Rotax Jr. class last weekend to bump up a class into Rotax Sr. After competing in the Jr. class at the Rotax Summer Shootout and the Rotax US Grand Nationals, Walker decided to make the switch in order to prepare for next years Rotax Sr. filled schedule.

Walker had to start last for the first two heats of the day as a rookie because of the class transfer. The first heat went well after starting 12th, Walker charged his way to the front within three laps and took the lead and the checkered flad after lap 10. Heat two followed a similar pace as he started 11th this time and worked his way to the lead in 4 laps taking home the win. The two wins lead to his pole position for the main event which Walker ended up leading from start to finish duing the 15 lap event.

Overall an exciting weekend for Walker Hess Racing and their debut in the Rotax Sr. class. Walker is looking forward to the next three races in the UKC to finish out the season strong.
